Why the cup you drink from matters

I love simplicity, and yet I absolutely had to have this cup. Why? As the name “Sensual Coffee” suggests, the ritual of drinking coffee is all about the senses—experiencing the different layers of a moment. For me, this moment is deeply philosophical. And holding a cup that bears the actual imprint of a snail, running my fingers over that texture while I savor the coffee’s notes, simply completes the experience for me. To be honest—this ritual is sacred to me. As I hold my cup, I organize my thoughts, take in my surroundings, and simply am. Everything else comes later. It’s like pressing a pause button. No matter where I am, it gives me something to look forward to every morning.
And when I visited Numa and Delfin in their studio in Zamora and enjoyed their hospitality, I was thrilled. I feel that craftsmanship and the joy of design have been lost in many places. As we chatted and shared a beer and delicious food, it became clear to me that this was a solid foundation for a collaboration. Shared interests and a similar worldview aren’t always necessary, but they do make working together more harmonious.
We’ve put together a set for you that includes 2 mugs and our coffee. Feel free to browse our shop. It’s important to me to emphasize that bringing you joy as a customer is close to my heart. And I believe these mugs can help do just that.
Material things obviously aren’t everything. But they can bring joy ;)
Whether or not you try our coffee, I’d like to share my favorite settings.
For the dripper, it’s 17.2 clicks; for the V60, 15.1 clicks; and for the Moka, 9 clicks on the Timemore Chestnut C3ESP PRO. The grind size then optimizes the water flow depending on the method.
I use between 11 and 15 g of coffee and 300 ml of filtered water. This works well for me, but feel free to experiment to find what suits your taste.
As for the water, I let it cool slightly after boiling—so it should be around 97 °C.
